Why doesn’t incense set off my smoke alarm?

My smoke alarm is so sensitive that even with a plastic bag over it, going off within moments of frying any food. Even if the food isn 't the burning, the smoke alarm goes off immediately. However, I can burn a full cone or stick incense and the smoke alarm does not go off. I can see smoke come out the real, and it doesn 't set the alarm! Why?

 

How sensitive are dorm smoke detectors? If I have cigarette with the window open, will this set off the alarm?

For the past three days, the alarm has been issuing a short, sharp sound once every minute. Those hot summer nights, its window is open and so is ours. How much time! I mean that the dog's ears are sensitive not only to hear a beep but perhaps a more powerful sound that we can 't hear. Is anyone aware of studies on the damage they can cause?
