How sensitive are dorm smoke detectors? If I have cigarette with the window open, will this set off the alarm?

I live in a quarter and I don 'bedroom 8×11; t want to go outside to have a cigarette, but if I smoke in my bedroom i don' t want the smoke alarm goes off.

the idea is to not burn down the dorm and kill all your friends!!!…
…. smoke outside…. that’s the rules… don’t care if you like them or not… when you get out and are in the job market, when they say ‘no smoking’ in the building, what are you gonna do then?.. smoke in the restroom?… DUH…. learn to follow the RULES, dink……
